The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 118-101 in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference first-round series on Tuesday night.
Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 38 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Jaylen Brown added 23 points and 7 rebounds, while Marcus Smart chipped in with 18 points and 6 assists.
The Pacers were led by Tyrese Haliburton, who had 22 points and 8 assists. Myles Turner added 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Buddy Hield scored 16 points.
The Celtics took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Pacers 34-19. Boston's defense held the Pacers to just 38% shooting from the field in the game.
The Pacers will look to bounce back in Game 2 on Thursday night at home.
