Mankato, Minnesota - The Rapidan Dam, located on the Blue Earth River near Mankato, Minnesota, is facing imminent failure due to high water levels resulting from heavy rains.
According to local emergency management officials, the 114-year-old concrete gravity dam is experiencing structural damage as rushing waters carry debris into the structure.
Officials have issued warnings and are urging residents living downstream of the dam to evacuate immediately. The dam is located in Rapidan Township, approximately 14 miles south of Mankato.
