Large alligator spotted on Tybee Island shore

A large alligator was spotted on the shore of Tybee Island on Friday, May 26, 2023.
The alligator was approximately 10 feet long and was seen basking in the sun on the beach near the pier.
No one was injured in the incident.
The Tybee Island Police Department responded to the scene and closed off the area to swimmers.
The alligator was eventually captured and removed from the beach by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
Alligators are common in Georgia, and it is not uncommon for them to be seen in coastal areas.
However, it is important to remember that alligators are dangerous animals and should not be approached.
